We are recruiting on behalf of a high-performing secondary school in Birmingham, part of a nationally respected multi-academy trust, for a Head of Year to join their dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead a year group and contribute to a culture of educational excellence within a caring and secure Islamic environment, enriched with the values of discipline, mutual care, and respect. Key Responsibilities: Lead the pastoral care of a designated year group, supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. Drive improvements in attendance, punctuality, and behaviour, ensuring high standards across the year group. Provide targeted interventions and support for students and families, working closely with internal teams and external agencies. Oversee the morning registration and tutorial programme, ensuring quality delivery and consistency. Promote student leadership, voice, and community cohesion through enrichment activities and faith-based character development. Supervise detentions, monitor behaviour, and maintain detailed records using school systems. Support lesson cover, supervision, and intervention sessions for up to 12 periods per week. Ideal Candidate: Experienced in pastoral leadership or middle management. Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and student support strategies.
