Trainee Teaching Assistant – South Shields (Secondary SEND) Location: Sunderland Start: January Contract: Long term, full timeThinking about a career in education but not sure where to start? This Trainee TA role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in a secondary SEND setting. You’ll receive guidance from an experienced team and gain valuable skills working with pupils who have autism, communication needs or learning differences.What you’ll be doing: • Supporting pupils in lessons and helping them stay engaged • Learning how to use visuals, structure and communication tools • Helping with sensory breaks, routines and small-group activities • Building confidence and relationships with pupils who need extra encouragementWhat you’ll need: • A genuine interest in education or youth support • A caring, patient approach • Willingness to be hands-on and learn from the team(Perfect for psychology graduates, youth workers, aspiring teachers or anyone wanting a long-term role in SEND.)All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
