Needed an Autism Support Worker in Poole!Autism Support Worker Location: Poole Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience) Start Date: January 2026 Contract Type: Full-time / Part-timeAre you passionate about supporting children with Autism and helping them achieve their full potential? GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join schools in Poole.As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with students on the autism spectrum, providing one-to-one and small group support to help them access the curriculum and develop social, emotional, and communication skills.Responsibilities Provide tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in classroom and individual settings.Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.Promote positive communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.Help students build independence and confidence in both academic and personal development.Encourage engagement through sensory-based and structured learning activities.Maintain accurate records of student progress and liaise with teachers, parents, and SENCOs. Requirements Previous experience supporting children or young people with Autism (ASC) or other special educational needs is essential.Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health and Social Care, or equivalent are desirable.Understanding of autism-friendly strategies, such as PECS, Makaton, or TEACCH, is desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
