Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a welcoming and therapeutic SEMH secondary school in Greenwich who are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join their team full time from January. About the School This supportive and nurturing school caters for KS3 and KS4 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Although pupils are secondary-aged, many are working below age-related expectations, so learning is highly personalised, with strong emphasis on emotional regulation, social development and building confidence. Class sizes are very small and the school offers extensive staffing support, enabling teachers to focus on high-quality relationships, adapted teaching, and meaningful progress. The Role This is a rewarding opportunity for an English specialist who can engage, inspire and support learners who may have had disrupted educational experiences. You will: Teach GCSE English to KS3 and KS4 students Adapt lessons to meet a wide range of needs, including students working below secondary level Embed creative, therapeutic and nurture-based approaches into English learning Support students' emotional wellbeing and help them develop self-regulation skills Work closely with a dedicated team of support staff and pastoral colleagues Take part in enrichment activities and occasional community trips Requirements QTS / QTLS or strong English teaching experience Experience or interest in SEMH, trauma-informed practice, or alternative provision Ability to differentiate effectively and build strong, trusting relationships Patience, resilience and a nurturing approach Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) What the School & Tradewind Offer Full-time English Teacher role starting January GCSE-level teaching in a small, supportive environment Excellent staff wellbeing and therapeutic ethos Competitive pay rates Ongoing CPD and a dedicated Tradewind consultant for support How to Apply If you are a compassionate and skilled English Teacher seeking a role where you can truly make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
