Job DescriptionTo coordinate the process of managing and creating digital information.A BIM coordinator ensures that information and data flows in a specific order according to standard BIM methodology. They establish and maintain BIM workflows / BIM execution plans (BEPs), manage the federated model process, resolve any coordination issues that may arise, and manage/mentor a small team. Core ResponsibilitiesUtilise Bentley ProjectWise with OpenBuilding Designer, and MicroStation for detailed 3D CAD model creation and documentation, ensuring models are fully coordinated and by using clash avoidance tools which are embedded within the digital twin used on the project.Produce model geometry and information in line with the Component Catalogue and outline information within the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).Ensure all models that are submitted, meet the project requirements set out, and ensure systems are in place for clash avoidance, internal model audits and clash detection before model submission.Assist in the maintenance of the project's ProjectWise Common Data Environment, ensuring accurate and timely information flow and adherence to data management standards.Participate in quality assurance checks of to ensure they meet the project's accuracy, detail, and the employers information requirements.Assist in monitoring compliance with the BEP and the supporting project standards, contributing to regular reports on BIM deliverable status.Work closely with other disciplines to ensure the 3D CAD models are integrated and coordinated efficiently, attending regular coordination meetings as necessary.Provide technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related issues.Management Responsibilities Management of a small team within the project and/or subcontractors, including BIM Modellers, CAD Technicians/Apprentices for production design outputsTake a lead role in managing the project BIM design sub-team and managing all technical aspects related to interdisciplinary model coordinationPlan and co-ordinate the activities of the BIM/Digital sub-team to meet the project delivery requirementsSupport the management team in Client meetings for technical issuesProactively review design documentation to ensure compliance to standard and requirementsCoordinate the Quality aspects of the sub-systems deliverables as per the project Quality Management Plan / Exchange Information RequirementsProduce and/or review (wherever applicable) digital/BIM deliverables, act as a technical control level across projects at sub-team levelSupport and develop competency of the sub-team, following direction from line management / Egis Head of Profession / Functional Head, including:Training plan,Guidance and mentoring to junior team members,And support the senior team in growing the technical capability of the discipline/businessYou may also work on:Projects for multiple commissions across the UK and International businessYou will also support on the following Egis company activities:Support the international Engineering Design Centre (EDC) strategy and team management structure in the UKSupport the BIM/Digital Strategy and help maintain our ISO 19650 accreditation in the UKSupport in development and improvement of our BIM processes/protocols for input data management and external deliverables / published documentationSupport in development of templates, reusable digital resources, workflows, methods and procedures.
