OVERVIEWAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and driven Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable construction consultancy in Nottingham. The business places strong emphasis on professional development, wellbeing, and clear career progression pathways for their quantity surveying team.ROLEAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing cost management and commercial support across multiple construction projects, from early design stages through to final account.You will manage key commercial elements of projects, liaise directly with clients and contractors, and ensure financial performance aligns with project objectives. The role encompasses cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and financial reporting responsibilities.RESPONSIBILITIESKey responsibilities include:Delivering cost management services across pre- and post-contract stagesPreparing cost plans, budgets, and financial reportsManaging tender processes, procurement, and contract documentationAssessing contractor valuations, variations, and change controlMonitoring project costs, cash flow, and financial performanceAdministering contracts under JCT and/or NEC formsLiaising with clients, contractors, and consultant teamsAttending and contributing to project and commercial meetingsPreparing and agreeing final accountsProviding accurate cost and progress updates to clients and internal stakeholdersMaintaining a professional, proactive, and commercially focused approachPERSONThe ideal Quantity Surveyor will demonstrate:A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related built environment disciplineProven experience in a construction consultancy or contractor environmentStrong working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contractsExperience working with developers, consultants, and/or main contractorsExcellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skillsStrong communication and stakeholder management abilitiesExcellent organisational and time management skillsA proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage workload independentlyCompetency with Microsoft Office and cost management softwareGood understanding of procurement routes and cost control processesREMUNERATIONIn return for your contribution, our client offers a competitive and comprehensive package, including:Competitive salary, dependent on experienceCompany pension schemePrivate healthcareFull-time, permanent position based in NottinghamSupportive, professional, and collaborative working environmentOngoing professional development and career progression supportEqual opportunities employerAtkins Search acts as an employment agency for the Built Environment including but not limited to Construction, Consultancy, Residential and Infrastructure sectors.
