Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Derbyshire Pay Rate: £95 – £130 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time“Lead Learning with Confidence, Support Class Progress, and Make a Lasting Impact!”GSL Education are seeking a skilled and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and inclusive school in Derbyshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant ready to take on greater responsibility and play a key role in delivering high-quality learning.As an HLTA, you will support teaching and learning across classes, deliver planned lessons in the absence of the teacher, and provide targeted support to individuals and small groups. You will work closely with teachers and senior staff to ensure continuity, progress, and a positive learning environment.As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will: Deliver pre-planned lessons and cover classes when required.Support pupils’ learning across the curriculum in whole-class, group, and 1:1 settings.Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and assessment activities.Support pupils with varying needs, including SEND, where required.Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and inclusion.Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to support pupil progress.Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment. What you will require for HLTA: HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in a school setting.Confidence in leading learning and managing a classroom.Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
