ACCA, CIMA, QUALIFIED ACCOUNTANT, ACCOUNTANT, CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT, NICS, PUBLIC SECTOR Staff Officer Accountant– DAERA Information SystemsLocation: Clare House, Belfast, BT3 9ED Hourly Rate: £24.04–£25.01 per hour (£41,272 annually) Contract: Temporary (12 months+) which will open the doors to putting yourself forward for the permanent external competitions coming up in the NICS with the help of your line manager and team Hours: 37 per week | Monday–Friday| Flexible start and finish times Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days in office / 3 days from home Flexibility: Flexi-time availableAbout the RoleJoin DAERA Information Systems and make an impact in financial governance and management within the Northern Ireland Civil Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on diverse projects, gain valuable experience, and position yourself for future permanent external competitions with the support of your line manager and team.What You’ll DoAnalyse financial data and deliver insightful reports.Manage in-year budgets, monthly profiling, variance analysis, and reporting.Produce monthly and/or quarterly management accounting information.Liaise with internal and external auditors, including the Northern Ireland Audit Office.Provide financial governance for IT projects.Offer expert advice on financial information, accounting requirements, and best practice.Apply activity-based costing and benchmarking techniques.Promote strong corporate governance and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.Manage financial processing functions, staff, and resources.Drive process improvements and support business planning.Essential CriteriaAt least one year’s experience in a finance-related environment within the last five years.Qualifications: Full current membership of one of the following professional bodies: Chartered Accountants IrelandICA Scotland / ICA England & WalesCIMA / ACCA / CIPFAInstitute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland Or Equivalent qualificationWhy Apply?✅ Competitive pay: £27.55–£28.67 per hour ✅ Hybrid working: 2 days office / 3 days home✅ Flexi-time and flexible start/finish ✅ 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday ✅ Temporary 12-month+ role with pathway to permanent opportunities # 4749727
