1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs - ASD & Behaviour) Location: Brent, North West London (Excellent Jubilee Line Access) Start Date: ASAP Salary: £100-£110 per day (PAYE only) - with review at Week 12 Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only SANZA Teaching Agency are working with a welcoming, inclusive and well-led Primary School in Brent who are seeking a highly committed 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioural needs. About the Role You will be providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child with ASD and behavioural needs throughout the school day. The pupil responds well to positive reinforcement, clear boundaries and routine. Your responsibilities will include: Providing consistent 1:1 support in and out of the classroom Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management Using positive reinforcement strategies to encourage engagement Adapting learning tasks to suit individual needs Supporting transitions and unstructured times Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external specialists Recording progress and contributing to review meetings Ensuring the child feels safe, supported and understood This role requires patience, emotional intelligence and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience supporting children with ASD and behavioural needs A strong understanding of positive behaviour strategies Experience in a 1:1 SEND TA or similar role A calm, consistent and resilient approach Excellent communication skills The ability to build trust and strong relationships A genuine passion for SEND and inclusion This role would suit someone with a background in SEND, education, youth work, care or behavioural support.
