ABC Teachers, is currently recruiting Trainee Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, teaching assistants, or individuals looking to gain paid classroom experience before teacher training. About the role As a Trainee Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to supervise pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You will manage classroom behaviour, support students with their work, and ensure a positive learning environment.No prior teaching qualification is required, as full training and ongoing support are provided by ABC Teachers. Key Responsibilities: Supervising classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4Delivering pre-planned lessons set by teaching staffManaging classroom behaviour and maintaining school policiesSupporting students to stay on task and engagedGaining valuable hands-on experience in secondary schools About the school You will be working in a range of secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent, including mainstream academies and local authority schools. These schools offer supportive leadership teams, structured behaviour policies, and welcoming staff, making them ideal environments for Trainee Cover Supervisors to develop confidence and classroom management skills. Schools are easily accessible and offer opportunities to work across different year groups and subject areas, giving you valuable exposure to varied classroom settings. Requirements To be considered for the role of Trainee Cover Supervisor you will: Are a graduate or have experience working with young peopleAre considering a career in teaching or educationHave strong communication and classroom management skillsHave experience in coaching, tutoring, youth work, or education (desirable, not essential)Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check, uploaded to the update service. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
