Location: Bishop Auckland Start Date: January Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pmWe are delighted to be working in partnership with a lovely, welcoming primary school in Bishop Auckland who are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and committed Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis starting in January.This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate KS1 teacher who is eager to make a positive impact and is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child feels supported, valued and able to thrive.The Role:
As the Key Stage 1 Teacher, you will:
Take full responsibility for planning, preparing and delivering engaging and creative KS1 lessons in line with the national curriculum
Plan and adapt lessons and resources to meet the needs of all pupils, including those requiring additional support
Create a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning
Work closely with teaching assistants, senior leaders and wider support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
Support pupils with a range of needs in a caring and inclusive way
Collaborate effectively with therapists and other professionals where appropriate
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Have proven experience teaching Key Stage 1 – essential
Have experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – desirable
Particularly experience with Autism and ADHD
Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
Have a caring, patient, flexible and proactive approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
