We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated MFL Teacher to join secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about languages and committed to inspiring students to develop their linguistic skills and cultural awareness.This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for long-term, permanent, or flexible teaching opportunities.The Role: Teaching Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, German, or other languages depending on the school) across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5 in some schools) Planning and delivering engaging, interactive, and inclusive lessons in line with the national curriculum Promoting students’ linguistic skills, communication, and cultural understanding Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment Working collaboratively with the wider Languages department and school staff Essential Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential A recognised degree in a Modern Foreign Language, Linguistics, or a related subject Strong subject knowledge of the secondary MFL curriculum Effective classroom and behaviour management skills Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a love of languages A professional, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one What’s on Offer: Competitive pay rates, paid weekly via PAYE Opportunities for day-to-day supply, long-term, or permanent roles Flexible working options to suit your availability Support from a dedicated consultant with strong local school knowledge Access to CPD, training, and career development opportunities This is a fantastic opportunity to teach Modern Foreign Languages in supportive schools where high-quality teaching and learning are valued.
