Our client, a leading hedge fund, is seeking a Long/Short Equity Analyst with a focus on Financials. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a senior team, contributing to idea generation, research, and portfolio construction in a dynamic and performance-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct deep fundamental research on companies within the financials sector, with particular focus on banks and insurers. Develop and maintain detailed financial models, assessing earnings drivers, valuation metrics, and risk factors. Generate long and short investment ideas based on rigorous analysis and present actionable recommendations to the PM. Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic factors impacting financial institutions. Collaborate with the investment team to refine portfolio positioning and risk management strategies. Requirements: Strong background in financials equity research, with a preference for Long/Short investing experience. We are also open to candidates coming from a sell side background with experience across financials coverage. Proven ability to identify and articulate alpha-generating ideas in a long/short context. Advanced financial modelling skills and deep understanding of valuation methodologies. Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
