SEN Teaching Assistant, SkelmersdaleWe are currently recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary special educational needs setting. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, with a flexible start date to suit the right candidate. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.Key responsibilities include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support
Assisting with personalised learning plans
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Encouraging engagement, independence and social development
Working collaboratively with teaching and therapy staff
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary setting
Be patient, resilient and caring
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be adaptable and committed to supporting individual needs
This role is well suited to someone seeking long-term stability with the opportunity to secure a permanent position. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
