Senior Solicitor Large Loss, Belfast, Suit 5-10 yrs PQE.OverviewAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Solicitor with 510 years PQE to join a highly regarded Large Loss team within a leading insurance litigation practice in Belfast. This role offers exposure to some of the most complex, high-value and sensitive claims in the market, including catastrophic injury and fatal accident matters.The successful candidate will work closely with a Lead Lawyer on headline cases while also managing their own caseload of significant claims, typically valued between £100,000 and £250,000. This is a role suited to an ambitious solicitor who enjoys technical challenge, responsibility and clear progression within a collaborative, high-performing team. The role offers a competitive salary of up to £65,000, reflecting experience and skill.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Lead Lawyer on complex High Court and catastrophic injury claims, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and fatal accident casesManage your own caseload of high-value, multi-track injury claims from instruction through to resolutionProvide clear, strategic and technically robust advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and causationAnalyse complex medical, expert and financial evidence to identify key issues and inform case strategyDraft pleadings, witness statements and detailed technical reportsConduct witness interviews and attend conferences, mediations and Joint Settlement MeetingsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with senior claims handlers and insurer clientsMentor and support junior members of the team, contributing to their ongoing developmentEnsure accurate and compliant case management in line with LSNI requirementsEssential Skills and ExperienceQualified Solicitor with 510 years PQE, ideally in large loss or complex injury litigationStrong understanding of indemnity, liability and quantumDemonstrable experience handling high-value or technically complex claimsConfidence working with medical and expert evidenceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends and anomaliesCommercial, client-focused approach with confidence dealing with senior stakeholdersCalm, organised and proactive working style, even under pressureWhats on OfferCompetitive salary up to £65,000 plus discretionary incentive scheme35-hour working week (Monday Friday, 9am 5pm)Belfast-based role25 days annual leave, increasing with service (with option to buy/sell additional days)Private medical insurance (with option to extend to family cover)Health cash plan and 24/7 wellbeing support servicesDeath in service and critical illness coverIncome protectionPension scheme with employer contributionCycle to Work, tech and season ticket loan schemes (post-probation)Access to a wide range of retail, leisure and lifestyle discountsAt Pathway, we treat all applications with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.In line with GDPR regulations, your personal information will only be used for recruitment purposes, stored securely and never shared without your consent.
