About the SchoolSituated in Kirkby, this well-established, mixed secondary school educates children aged 3–11. Rated “Good” by Ofsted, it provides a caring, family-like environment, strong pastoral support, and a rigorous, broad curriculum. The school proudly offers nursery education and actively welcomes children from diverse backgrounds.Additionally, it hosts a satellite SEN provision in partnership with Bluebell Park School, supporting children with specific and complex learning needs, featuring bespoke sensory spaces and facilities.
Role OverviewWe’re looking for a compassionate and dynamic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide individual support to a child with identified additional needs. You will work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions that help the child reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver one-to-one support across core subjects and personal development.Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials accordingly.Employ behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to track and report progress.Contribute to specialist interventions within the Bluebell Park satellite base (where applicable).
Ideal Candidate
Experience in supporting children with SEN in a 1:1 educational setting.Strong interpersonal skills and resilience; able to build rapport with children, parents, and staff.Ability to differentiate learning and implement effective behaviour support strategies.Relevant training or qualifications in SEN support or child development – desirable.Desirable understanding of or experience working in sensory environments.
