Job Title: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant – SEMHGateshead | Full-Time | Immediate StartPay Scale: £90-100 a dayAre you passionate about supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs?Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded specialist school in Gateshead. You will support pupils with SEMH needs, many of whom have experienced trauma, anxiety, attachment difficulties or mental health challenges.The school offers a safe, calm and structured environment, underpinned by trauma-informed practice and strong pastoral care, where pupils are supported to rebuild trust and re-engage with education.Your Role Will Include: Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groupsHelping young people manage emotions and behaviourUsing consistent, calm de-escalation strategiesBuilding meaningful, trusting relationshipsSupporting learning and classroom engagementWorking as part of a multi-disciplinary team We’re Looking For Someone Who Is: Experienced in working with children or young peoplePatient, empathetic and resilientConfident supporting emotional and behavioural needsCommitted to making a positive difference Why Join Teaching Personnel?
