We are looking for an engaging and thoughtful English Tutor to support a student alongside her studies at North Bridge House Senior School. The aim of this role is to reinforce core English skills and develop a clear, confident thought process around language, comprehension, and written work. The tutor will focus on strengthening fundamentals through practical tools such as flash cards, structured thinking techniques, and consistent reinforcement of key knowledge, helping the student feel organised and confident in her approach to English.Key Responsibilities
Assess current strengths and areas for development in English
Reinforce foundational knowledge and exam-relevant skills
Support clarity of thought, structure, and expression
Use practical tools (e.g. flash cards, frameworks) to embed learning
Recommend the appropriate frequency and duration of sessions
Provide video call check-ins during holidays and summer to maintain continuity
Ideal Profile
English as a first language
Proven experience tutoring English at GCSE level
Structured yet encouraging teaching style
Able to build rapport and a trusting, supportive relationship
