This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and contribute to their long-term development. About the RoleAs an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work directly with teachers to provide tailored support for students aged 6 to 18. Your role will involve helping to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment where students can rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and develop essential life skills.You will be supporting young people with:• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs• Trauma and attachment difficulties• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)• ADHD• Complex social, emotional or behavioural backgroundsThe school offers a personalised, therapeutic curriculum that blends academic learning with outdoor activities, vocational opportunities and emotional wellbeing support. Who We Are Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is compassionate, patient and committed to supporting children with additional needs. Ideally, you will have:• Experience with SEMH or SEND• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice• A calm, resilient and caring approach• Strong communication and teamwork skills• Confidence in using positive behaviour support strategies• A genuine desire to help students overcome barriers and thriveWhether you have previous experience or are looking to develop a long-term career within special education, this role offers excellent opportunities for growth.
