The Role We are recruiting a Head of Fire Safety & Compliance to lead fire safety strategy and compliance across a large residential housing portfolio.This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for ensuring buildings meet all fire safety and regulatory requirements. You will lead specialist teams, manage multi-million-pound budgets, oversee contractors, and provide assurance to senior leadership that residents' homes are safe and compliant. Key Responsibilities Act as the Responsible Person for fire safety across the organisationLead and manage a specialist fire safety and compliance teamEnsure compliance with all relevant fire safety legislation, including RRFSO 2005Develop, implement, and review fire safety policies and proceduresManage annual budgets of £3m-£12m, ensuring value for moneyOversee procurement, contract performance, and contractor managementProvide regular compliance and risk reports to senior leadership and boardLead implementation of new legislation and regulatory changeManage responses to serious incidents, escalations, and emergenciesWork closely with internal teams on new developments and asset strategyRepresent the organisation with regulators and industry bodies About You Proven experience in a senior fire safety or compliance leadership roleStrong background in residential housing, social housing, or regulated environmentsExperienced in managing large budgets and complex contractsConfident operating at executive and board levelStrong people leader with excellent stakeholder management skillsIn-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulatory requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience Recognised professional qualification in fire safety or health & safety(e.g. NEBOSH, FPA, FIA or equivalent)Extensive knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005Experience leading change in response to new legislationStrong contract management experience (JCT / NEC or similar) Morgan Hunt is a multi-award-winning recruitment business for interim, contract and temporary recruitment and acts as an Employment Agency in relation to permanent vacancies.
