Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Key Stage: KS4 (Year 10 & Year 11) Class Size: Up to 6 pupils Setting: PRU / Alternative Provision Start Date: [Insert date] Contract: [Full-time / Part-time / Permanent / Fixed-term]Location: Hayes Hours 09:30- 15:00/10:00 - 15:30About the Role We are looking for a committed and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within our Alternative Provision unit. You will work closely with the class teacher to support learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.The pupils present low-level SEN needs, including ADHD, ASC, and Functional Skills needs, and follow a GCSE pathway in a calm, supportive learning environment.Key Responsibilities Provide in-class support to pupils during lessons Offer 1:1 or small group interventions where required Support pupils with focus, emotional regulation, and routines Assist with lesson preparation and learning resources Encourage positive behaviour and engagement Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils Person Specification Experience working with SEN pupils (school, PRU, or support settings desirable) Understanding of ADHD and ASC Calm, patient, and nurturing approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to adapt and support individual pupil needs We Offer A small, supportive learning environment Close working relationships with teaching staff Ongoing training and development opportunities A rewarding role supporting pupils to succeed academically and socially All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
