Interested in earning £88.92 – £101.92 per day as an SEN Teaching Assistant?Vision for Education are actively recruiting caring, reliable and motivated SEN Teaching Assistants to work in the Newport area, supporting pupils within a specialist primary school setting.This role involves supporting pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs (ALN), including pupils who may display challenging behaviour. The school is seeking committed support staff to work on a 1:1 and small group basis, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to pupils’ learning, development and emotional wellbeing.The roleThe role is based in NewportThe position is within a specialist primary SEN school supporting pupils with ALNAs part of the SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will support pupils in the classroom to meet daily learning, care and developmental objectivesYou will build strong, nurturing and professional relationships with pupils and act as a positive role modelThe role will require you to identify triggers and support the de-escalation of behaviour in a calm and proactive mannerWork on a 1:1 and small group basis to support pupils’ academic, social and emotional developmentFollow the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, assisting where neededUse your skills, experience and initiative to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environmentContribute ideas to support and enhance teaching, learning and pupil progressThe ideal candidate will:Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Health and Social Care or a related subject (not essential)Have experience supporting pupils with SEN or ALN, either professionally or personallyHave strong behaviour management and de-escalation skillsBe open to additional training such as Team Teach, Manual Handling or SafeguardingHave strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skillsDemonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children with additional learning needsThe benefits:Competitive daily rate of pay – £88.92 – £101.92 per day Auto-enrolment into a company pension scheme Ongoing CPD and access to a wide range of SEN and safeguarding training courses Full-time and part-time SEN Teaching Assistant roles available A dedicated education consultant to support you throughout your placement Vision for Education is part of The Edwin Group – a Top 10 UK employer in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023, 2024 and 2025 A positive, inclusive and supportive working culture where your contribution is recognisedIf you feel this SEN Teaching Assistant role in Newport is right for you and you would like to be shortlisted, please click apply and upload your CV.
