Job Title: Principal Highways EngineerLocation: Durham, Northallerton or Otley (on a hybrid basis)Salary: £54,000 - £58,000pa Are you an experienced Principal Highways Engineer looking for your next challenge? With sites across the North, this person has the possibility to be based in their offices in Durham, Northallerton or Otley on a hybrid basis. The Buyer RoleAs a Principal Highways Engineer, you will lead project planning and resource management within the highways team. Key responsibilities include:Overseeing design production, structural assessments, and inspectionsReviewing drawings, calculations, and technical reportsDeveloping engineering solutions and presenting optionsSupporting and mentoring junior team membersDriving health and safety best practices across projects Key ResponsibilitiesTo succeed as a Principal Highways Engineer, you’ll need:A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)Significant experience in highway design and constructionStrong knowledge of UK standards and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civils 3D)Excellent communication and leadership skillsProfessional registration (IEng or CEng) is desirable, and the ability to travel to sites when required is essential.
