Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor – Leeds/HybridA respected law firm with a strong national reputation in clinical negligence is looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join its expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and driven Solicitor seeking to develop their career within a collaborative, flexible and forward-thinking environment.The Opportunity:This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, with just 2 days a month office attendance in Leeds required, combining the convenience of home-based work with the opportunity to collaborate and connect with colleagues at the firm's modern Leeds office.The firm prides itself on its progressive approach to work-life balance and is known for fostering a supportive, inclusive culture where staff wellbeing and development are genuinely prioritised.You'll join a specialist team of clinical negligence lawyers recognised for its expertise, with accreditations from APIL, AvMA and the Law Society. As a Senior Solicitor, you'll manage a complex and rewarding caseload from start to finish, advising clients with professionalism and empathy, while working closely with medical experts and other stakeholders to secure successful outcomes.Your leadership and technical expertise will help shape the team's ongoing success, with the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues, contribute to strategic decisions and play a key role in delivering high standards of service and commercial results.Key Responsibilities:
Manage a complex caseload of clinical negligence matters independentlyTake a proactive, commercially focused approach to litigation and case progressionLiaise with clients, medical professionals and counsel to build strong relationships and provide expert adviceDraft legal documents including Letters of Claim and instructions to expertsNegotiate settlements and manage proceedings where requiredCollaborate with the Team Leader to deliver team performance targetsSupport and mentor junior team membersEnsure accurate and timely recording of all casework
Requirements:
At least 8 years' PQE (or equivalent experience) in clinical negligence lawRecent experience handling a varied caseload in this areaStrong legal drafting and communication skillsExcellent time management and organisational abilitiesCommercial awareness and the ability to approach cases strategicallyA collaborative mindset and commitment to team successProven ability to supervise or mentor junior colleaguesExcellent IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and case management systems
