With disabled access, air conditioning, and a welcoming atmosphere, it is an ideal and highly sought-after location for weddings, corporate events, conferences, private parties, and more, providing a sophisticated blend of history, natural beauty, and modern hospitality.Role Purpose The Venue Sales Manager will drive significant revenue growth at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club by proactively securing and maximising event bookings across weddings, corporate functions, conferences, golf days, and private events. This role demands a highly experienced venue sales professional with a proven track record in both outbound proactive sales outreach and converting inbound leads. You will own the full sales cycle, build lasting client relationships, and collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver outstanding events while achieving ambitious financial targets.RequirementsSales & Business DevelopmentDevelop and implement proactive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets and maximise venue occupancy.Lead outbound sales efforts, including targeted outreach, networking, and attending industry events to generate new business opportunities.Effectively manage and convert inbound leads into confirmed bookings.Identify and pursue opportunities in corporate events, weddings, conferences, private functions, and golf-related activities.Conduct site visits, venue tours, and presentations to showcase the unique features of Hampton Court Palace Golf Club.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure profitable bookings.Customer Service & Client RelationsServe as the primary point of contact for clients from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up.Deliver tailored event solutions and recommendations aligned with client needs and venue capabilities.Greet members and guests, ensuring an exceptional experience at all times.Resolve any concerns promptly to foster repeat business and positive referrals.Event Planning & CoordinationCollaborate with the marketing team on venue-specific campaigns to promote the space.Work with the Clubhouse and Charities teams to plan and execute events, meetings, and activities.Communicate client requirements clearly to relevant departments and oversee logistics, including catering, decorations, AV, and setup/breakdown.Own the overall guest experience within the clubhouse and event spaces, ensuring seamless delivery.Financial & Performance ManagementContribute to event operations budgets and monitor performance against targets.Track bookings, revenue, conversion rates, and prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analysis.Manage contracts, invoicing, payments, and promotional budgets efficiently.Market IntelligenceMaintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and market demands.Identify opportunities to refine venue offerings, pricing, and positioning.Represent the venue at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions.Compliance & SafetyEnsure full compliance with regulations, including food safety, alcohol licensing, and health & safety protocols.Promote a safe and welcoming environment for all guests, staff, and members.Person SpecificationExperience & KnowledgeMinimum 3 years’ experience as a Venue Sales Manager (or similar) in leisure, hospitality, or events, with strong emphasis on wedding and corporate venue sales.Proven expertise in managing the full sales cycle, including proactive outbound outreach and inbound lead conversion.In-depth understanding of the events/hospitality industry, market trends, and competitor landscape.Experience with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and event logistics coordination.Passion for hospitality, exceptional guest experiences, and business growth.SkillsStrong leadership and team motivation skills, with a track record of delivering quality standards and ambitious budgets.Excellent business acumen, including P&L management and financial decision-making.Outstanding communication, negotiation, influencing, and interpersonal abilities.Highly organised with acute attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.Evidence-based, strategic thinker capable of driving revenue growth.Personal ApproachProactive, results-driven, and commercially focused.Ability to work independently, make decisive actions, and think strategically.Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.Genuine passion for F&B, sales, people development, and relationship-building.Strong work ethic, time management, and prioritisation skills.Excellent storytelling ability to convey the unique appeal of the venue.Reporting Line Reports directly to the General Manager.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation at one of London’s most prestigious and picturesque venues.
