This role does not offer sponsorship.About the RoleThe PE & Outdoor Learning Lead plays a key role in promoting physical wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and positive engagement in learning across Ashley Park–Skylarks School. You will lead the development and delivery of a high-quality, inclusive PE and outdoor learning programme that reflects the needs of all pupils, encourages participation and supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.This role combines high-quality teaching with leadership of PE, outdoor learning and healthy living, creating positive, enjoyable experiences that inspire pupils to be active, confident and motivated.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, deliver and monitor a progressive, high-quality PE and outdoor learning curriculum that meets the needs of all pupilsIncrease participation in sport and physical activity across the school, ensuring access and inclusion for every childAct as a positive role model, creating a fun, motivating and supportive environment for learningPromote healthy living through PE, PSHE and outdoor learning, including the development of mindfulness and wellbeing activitiesSupport pupils to develop confidence, independence, teamwork and positive social interaction through physical activityIdentify and reduce barriers to participation, ensuring all pupils can engage successfullyMaintain effective links with local sporting clubs, organisations and the wider community to enhance opportunities for pupilsSupport the organisation and administration of PE activities, including the use of off-site facilitiesAbout YouYou will have:Degree in Education (desirable)Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (desirable)A good understanding of safeguarding principles and practiceKnowledge and experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)Full UK Driving LicenceAbout UsAshley Park is a brand-new independent specialist school for 60 autistic pupils aged 11–19, offering tailored education, care, and support within a safe and supportive environment.Located in Epsom, Surrey, we provide a unique mix of learning opportunities and therapeutic support to meet a wide spectrum of needs and abilities, ensuring every pupil can thrive.For over 19 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
