Technical Services Manager – Metal Roofing SystemsLocation: Bristol - Office-based but will require some attendance to site UK Department: Technical Services – Roofing DivisionSalary - £50,000 - £70,000 basic Dependant on ExperienceAbout the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Technical Services professional to join our growing roofing division, with a specialist focus on metal roofing products and systems for commercial and industrial buildings.This role sits within the Technical Services team and plays a key part in supporting customers, contractors, and the sales team throughout the full project lifecycle — from initial enquiry through to completion and quality assurance.You’ll be responsible for producing bespoke technical solutions, ensuring compliance with building regulations, providing on-site technical support, and delivering training to both internal teams and external partners.What You’ll Be DoingProviding day-to-day technical support for metal roofing systems and productsProducing and approving bespoke specifications, thermal calculations, and technical drawingsSupporting the sales team during initial enquiries and customer meetings with technical expertiseVisiting construction sites during planning, installation, and post-completion stages to provide guidance and quality checksManaging and supporting projects from inception to completion, liaising with third-party suppliers and service providersMaintaining technical resources including drawings, datasheets, certification, BIM content, and specificationsDelivering technical and installation training to sales teams and contractorsLiaising with Marketing to provide technical input for publications and promotional materialsStaying up to date with changes to regulations and codes of practice and reporting these internallyCreating CAD drawings to support as-built packages and O&M manualsSkills & Knowledge RequiredStrong organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)Confident presentation and training delivery skillsSolid technical understanding of metal roofing systems, particularly standing seam systemsGood working knowledge of building regulations and construction/design principlesUnderstanding of CDM 2015, including designer and principal designer responsibilitiesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable working under pressure and supporting a demanding sales environmentProficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCADQualificationsNo specific qualifications requiredA degree in a construction-related discipline is desirableExperienceExperience in a construction-related role (e.g. project management, design, or site supervision)Experience delivering design and project packages in formal presentations or group settingsProven ability to work collaboratively with other design professionalsExperience working directly with installing contractors to resolve technical issuesExperience surveying construction sites and reporting findingsPhysical & Environmental RequirementsAbility to climb ladders and safely use access equipment on siteWhy Join Us?Be part of a supportive, office-based technical teamEnjoy autonomy and the freedom to bring forward your own ideas and initiativesOpportunities for professional development within a growing businessA collaborative culture built on integrity, quality, and long-term relationshipsParticipation in an employee ownership scheme after one year of service
