Credit Controller | Professional Services | London Credit ControllerLondon | Professional Services | PermanentYour new company A well‑established, mid‑to‑large professional services firm based in the City of London is looking to recruit a Credit Controller into its central Finance team. The business is partner‑led, people‑focused, and continues to grow across specialist service lines, offering a collaborative and supportive working environment.Your new role You will join the firm’s Revenue / Finance function, playing a key role in maintaining strong credit control processes, improving cash flow, and minimising bad debt. Working closely with senior stakeholders and portfolio holders, you will manage a busy sales ledger and support effective billing and debtor management across the firm.Key responsibilities will include:Managing and maintaining an accurate client ledger, including timely allocation of receiptsProactively chasing overdue invoices via phone and email and issuing client statementsSupporting portfolio holders with debt collection and resolving billing and payment queriesEscalating non‑paying accounts to senior management and proposing appropriate next stepsLiaising with third‑party debt collection agencies and external advisers when requiredProcessing debtor write‑offs with appropriate authorisation and ensuring correct provisioningAssisting with debtor reporting, cash‑flow forecasting, and management informationSupporting the smooth operation of the accounts receivable and billing systems, including client portalsWhat you'll need to succeed Proven experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable roleIdeally gained within a professional services, accountancy, legal, or partnership‑based environmentStrong communication skills and confidence in dealing with senior internal stakeholders and clientsGood attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesComfortable working with finance systems, client portals, and ExcelWhat you'll get in return A permanent role within a stable and growing professional services firmExposure to senior stakeholders and complex client portfoliosA collaborative finance team with clear processes and supportCompetitive salary and benefits packageFlexible working arrangementsWhat you need to do now If you’re interested in this role, click ‘apply now’ to forward an up‑to‑date copy of your CV.
