Structural Engineer – Council in Central London £216.43 PAYE / £297.44 Umbrella (Inside IR35)36 hours per week / 5 days per week Temporary Contract A Local Authoritry based in Central London is currently seeking an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer to support its Building Control and Dangerous Structures functions during a peak in workload. This is a temporary assignment within the Growth, Planning and Housing directorate, working on a hybrid basis with occasional site inspections required.The role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, compliance, and structural integrity of developments across the borough.Responsibilities: Review and check structural designs submitted with planning and building regulations applicationsProvide timely responses to basement development consultations issued by PlanningCarry out occasional site inspections as requiredAdvise on, prepare reports for, and support actions relating to Dangerous StructuresAct as a core member of the Dangerous Structures teamManage caseloads effectively, ensuring SLAs and response times are consistently metSupport Building Control Surveyors with structural assessments Requirements: Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or equivalent recognised bodySignificant operational experience in structural engineeringStrong time management, organisational, and record-keeping skillsProven ability to assess structural information promptly and accuratelyConfident working independently within a fast-paced local authority environment James at Service Care Solutions.uk
