Futures are working with a precision engineering business to appoint an Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate manufacturing activity across their CNC machining operation. This role has a strong operational focus, taking responsibility for production planning, workflow management, and operational performance across the shop floor and wider supply chain. As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the required quality standards. You’ll work closely with engineering, production, suppliers, and subcontractors to balance capacity, cost, and delivery, while identifying opportunities to improve processes and operational effectiveness. Operations Manager – Responsibilities – Machine Shop / Machining / CNC / Precision Engineering Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations within a CNC machining environmentPlan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer delivery requirementsManage workflow, capacity planning, and job prioritisation across the shop floorSupport quotation, estimating and job release activities from an operational perspectiveDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, lead time and costAct as a key point of contact between production, management, suppliers and subcontractorsMonitor quality, delivery and operational KPIs, taking action where requiredEnsure health & safety, quality and operational standards are maintained Operations Manager – Skills & Experience - Machine Shop / Machining / CNC / Precision Engineering Background in manufacturing or precision engineering environmentsStrong understanding of CNC machining and production operationsExperience planning and managing production schedules and resourcesCommercial awareness, with exposure to estimating, costing or profitabilityConfident communicator able to engage with shop floor teams and external partnersProactive, organised and solutions-focused management style If you are looking for an Operations Manager role where you can have real influence over manufacturing performance and day-to-day delivery, please apply now.
