Douglas Scott is working with a highly regarded Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked employment team that advises some of the most recognisable names in the retail, hospitality and recruitment sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Employment Solicitor to join a growing practice and work closely with clients in some of the UK’s most dynamic industries. What You’ll Do Advise clients on discrimination, redundancy, disciplinary and grievance procedures, whistleblowing, and employment contracts and policies.Act for both respondent and claimant clients across a varied caseload.Represent clients in Employment Tribunals, mediations and negotiate settlement agreements.Provide sector-specific advice on issues such as agency worker regulations, working time, shift patterns and high-turnover workforce challenges.Stay up to date with developments in UK employment law and emerging trends affecting retail, hospitality and recruitment.Manage your own caseload efficiently while supporting the wider team.Take ownership of financial performance and contribute to team profitability.Work collaboratively in a positive, professional and inclusive environment aligned with the firm’s values.Participate in networking, speaking engagements and business development initiatives to help grow the practice. What We’re Looking For 2–5 years’ PQE with strong technical knowledge of UK employment law.Experience handling both contentious and non-contentious matters.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.A commercial mindset and interest in understanding the operational realities of retail, hospitality and recruitment businesses.Confidence working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for contributing to team success.Interest in business development and supporting the growth of the practice.
