Health and Social Care LecturerLocation: South East London Hours per Week: 37 (Note: Lunch breaks are unpaid) Contract Duration: Until 31/03/2026 Salary: Competitive 26-35p/h We are seeking a dedicated Temporary Agency Lecturer in Health & Social Care to join our team at the South East Campus. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about contributing to the educational journey of our students, ensuring high levels of retention and achievement through effective teaching and course management. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality learning experiences across a range of College courses and programmes in Health, Social Care & Early Years. Lead and manage a small course team, including taking on responsibilities as a course tutor as required. Develop and maintain course materials, lesson plans, and schemes of work, ensuring they are accessible through the college's shared information system. Engage in curriculum development, course coordination, and significant contributions to the enhancement of departmental offerings. Perform administrative, tutorial, and pastoral duties for one or more groups of full-time or part-time students. Participate in marketing activities, student recruitment, interviewing, and the induction of new team members. Maintain and update student records, monitor student progress, and evaluate programme effectiveness. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified or working towards a teaching qualification. Experience in teaching or training within the relevant subject area. Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy, or willingness to complete. Proven organisational skills in programme planning and delivery. Demonstrable ability to manage and motivate colleagues and lead a curriculum team. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, students, and external bodies. Proficiency in using a wide range of teaching aids, including integrated learning technologies.
