Engineers have meaningful influence over technical decisions, standards, and ways of working.About the RoleThis is a senior individual contributor role focused on creating leverage across multiple engineering teams. The primary goal is to simplify architecture, define shared technical patterns, and improve consistency, reliability, and security across critical systems. You’ll work across both frontend and backend systems, helping to shape how core workflows are built and maintained. This includes defining reusable patterns, improving observability, and setting standards that teams can adopt to move faster with confidence. On the frontend, the stack includes React and TypeScript. On the backend, services are built using Kotlin-based APIs. You’ll work closely with Product and Design partners to ensure technical direction supports broader business priorities, while also helping teams deliver predictably and at high quality. A key part of the role is raising engineering capability across teams through mentoring, architectural guidance, and shared practices. You’ll also help teams adopt new tools and approaches responsibly, including AI-assisted development tooling. Success in the role is measured by improved delivery consistency, reduced complexity, stronger system reliability, and higher engineering confidence across teams.ResponsibilitiesDefine and roll out shared technical patterns used across multiple teams.Design and build high-quality frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.Design and deliver scalable backend services using statically typed languages.Improve system reliability through clear ownership, service-level objectives, and incident practices.Partner with product and design leaders to align technical decisions with delivery goals.Establish and maintain security, privacy, and quality guardrails.Support the adoption of shared tooling and development standards.Mentor engineers through pairing, reviews, and architectural guidance.Contribute to communities of practice to raise standards and share knowledge.QualificationsStrong experience with modern frontend development (JavaScript, TypeScript, component-based frameworks). Solid testing discipline across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Experience designing and building backend services using RESTful APIs. Proven ability to simplify systems and influence technical direction across teams. Good understanding of CI/CD and modern delivery practices. Comfort working closely with design and product partners. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence without authority. Experience mentoring engineers and improving team capability.
