Senior Leadership Opportunity – Head of OperationsLondon (Hybrid) | Specialty Insurance | Confidential SearchSanderson King are supporting a well-backed international insurance group with the continued growth of one of its fast-scaling UK specialty insurance subsidiaries.As part of this expansion, the business is appointing a Head of Operations — a foundational senior hire who will play a critical role in shaping how the platform operates as it scales in the UK and internationally.This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys joining during build mode, taking ownership from day one, and designing best-in-class operational frameworks in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.Head of OperationsThe Head of Operations will be responsible for owning and optimising operational delivery across the business, ensuring the platform is efficient, scalable and well-structured to support growth.Key ResponsibilitiesOwnership of day-to-day operational processes and wider operational strategyDesigning, implementing and improving end-to-end workflows across the businessWorking closely with technology teams to optimise systems, data and automationManaging vendors, third-party providers, outsourcing arrangements and contractsDriving operational efficiency, scalability and cost controlSupporting underwriting, finance and commercial teams with effective operational deliveryEstablishing KPIs, MI and governance to support decision-makingBuilding, mentoring and scaling a high-performing operations team over timeKey Experience & BackgroundSenior operations leadership experience within insurance or specialty financial servicesStrong preference for experience within MGA, specialty insurer, Lloyd’s, broker or smaller carrier environmentsProven track record of operational transformation and process improvementExperience working closely with technology and systems teamsStrong vendor and third-party management experienceComfortable operating in a hands-on role with limited initial structureExperience scaling operations in a growth or build-phase businessWhy This OpportunityJoin a fast-growing UK subsidiary of a well-backed international insurance groupPlay a pivotal role during a genuine build and scale phaseHigh level of autonomy and influence over how operations are designedLondon HQ with hybrid working (typically 3 days in office)Competitive and flexible salary package (£80–120k+ depending on experience)Close exposure to senior leadership and international operations
