A specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Maidenhead is seeking a Trauma Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time role where you'll work closely with children and young people facing significant mental health challenges, including anxiety, attachment difficulties, and trauma-related behaviours. As a Trauma Support Assistant, you'll provide both emotional and academic support to students who require a nurturing and consistent presence in their school day. You'll play a vital role in promoting positive mental health, self-esteem, and emotional resilience. What you'll be doing as a Trauma Support Assistant: Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with emotional regulation and behaviourImplementing trauma-informed and mental health support strategiesBuilding trust-based relationships that promote safety and stabilityCreating a calm, structured environment that supports mental and emotional wellbeing This Trauma Support Assistant role is ideal for aspiring psychologists, therapists, counsellors, or anyone pursuing a career focused on child and adolescent mental health.
