SEND Teaching Assistant ApprenticeLevel 3 SEND Teaching Assistant ApprenticeshipFull-time RoleAbout the role: Engage Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join a specialist secondary SEND school in Twickenham. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start or change their career while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.You will be supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, social, emotional and mental health needs, and other complex learning profiles. Pupils work at varying academic levels and follow personalised learning pathways designed to support both academic achievement and personal development.This role is available as soon as possible and combines hands-on classroom experience with structured training delivered during working hours, both in person and online.Key responsibilities:Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groupsAssisting teachers with the planning and delivery of differentiated lessonsSupporting pupils’ educational, emotional, and behavioural developmentPreparing and adapting specialist learning resourcesMonitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teachers and parentsTraining & Development: As part of your apprenticeship, you will complete specialist SEND-focused training, including workshops on:The SEND landscape in the UKSafeguarding in SEND settingsAdaptive curriculum designInnovative assessment methodsAutism, ADHD, and DyslexiaTrauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)This training will equip you with the skills and confidence to make a meaningful impact in a SEND school environment.About you: You do not need previous school-based experience, but you should:Be passionate about supporting children with SENDBe patient, empathetic, and resilientHave strong communication skillsBe committed to completing a minimum 12-month apprenticeshipHold GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)About us: We are Engage Education, the UK’s most trusted education recruitment agency, with professional development and individual support at the heart of what we do.
