Premises Assistant Location: Secondary School, NewhamContract: Long-term temporary, initially until July 2026Start date: As soon as possible We are seeking a reliable and proactive Premises Assistant to join our site team at a busy and welcoming secondary school in Newham. This is a long-term temporary role, initially running until July 2026, offering stability and the opportunity to work in a supportive school environment. The RoleThe successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors. Duties will include: General maintenance and minor repairs across the school site Opening and closing the school buildings as required Supporting health and safety procedures Setting up rooms for lessons, meetings, and events Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of external areas Assisting with deliveries and moving equipment or furniture Liaising with contractors when necessary The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is: Practical, dependable, and able to work independently Experienced in caretaking, maintenance, or premises work (desirable) Committed to maintaining a safe school environment Flexible, with a positive and team-focused attitude Willing to work in a school setting and support safeguarding practices What We Offer A long-term temporary position until July 2026 A friendly and supportive school community The opportunity to make a real contribution to students' daily experience All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references in line with safeguarding requirements.
