Our aim is to celebrate every achievement, build independence, and create meaningful learning experiences that help each pupil flourish.The Role:As a PMLD Teacher, you will lead a small, well-supported class of pupils with complex needs, delivering highly individualised lessons that promote communication, sensory engagement, and personal development. Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and medical staff, you’ll ensure that every learner’s needs are met holistically in a safe and stimulating environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver Personalised Lessons: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support sensory, physical, and communication development.Holistic Support: Focus on developing communication, independence, social interaction, and emotional well-being.Collaborate with Specialists: Work alongside therapists, support assistants, and healthcare professionals to meet each pupil’s physical and educational needs.Assistive Communication: Use tools such as PECS, Makaton, and AAC to support expressive and receptive communication.EHCP Management: Contribute to and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring all targets are relevant and achievable.Behaviour and Care Support: Maintain a positive, safe classroom environment, supporting learners with physical and emotional regulation.Track Progress: Record and monitor pupil progress, celebrating achievements and identifying next steps for development.Family Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them updated on progress and celebrating successes.What We’re Looking ForTo be successful in this role, you will need:A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, or equivalent).Experience teaching pupils with PMLD, SLD, or complex SEND needs.A compassionate and adaptable teaching approach with a strong understanding of sensory learning.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and external professionals.Knowledge of assistive technologies and alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS).A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable pupils.Why Choose Engage Education?We are proud to support educators and schools across the UK, offering:Pay in line with national teacher pay scales (AWR compliant).Your own dedicated consultant for ongoing support and guidance.£150 Refer a Friend bonus.Free CPD training through our partnership with Creative Education, giving you access to over 200 professional development courses.Wellbeing support, travel discounts, and retail offers through our partner network.Application ProcessIf you feel you meet the criteria for this rewarding opportunity, please apply below or contact Engage Education directly.All applicants must hold a formally recognised teaching qualification.
