Pump Fitter / Repair Engineer Rotherham £19.48 per hour Our client, based in Rotherham, is seeking a skilled Pump Fitter / Repair Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected company in a supportive and well-equipped workshop environment.Pump Fitter / Repair Engineer Roles and Responsibilities: Strip down, inspect, and rebuild a wide range of pumps, including centrifugal, submersible, multistage, positive displacement, progressive cavity, and turbine typesAssess component wear, determine repair requirements, and identify necessary replacement partsUse precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, verniers, and dial test indicators, to work to exact tolerancesReplace bearings, seals, impellers, and shafts in line with specificationsComplete detailed job cards, inspection sheets, and repair reports accuratelyPerform laser alignment and assist with on-site installation and rebuild projects as requiredMaintain a safe working environment and high standards of workmanship and workshop cleanlinessPump Fitter / Repair Engineer Ideal Candidate: Proven experience as a Pump Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or in rotating equipment repair, with hands-on experience across a variety of pump typesHold a Level 3 qualification within Mechanical Engineering Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and comfortable working to tight tolerancesStrong understanding of mechanical systems and pump operationAble to read engineering drawings and follow repair procedures accuratelyKnowledge of basic electrical testing on motors is advantageousFull UK driving licence preferredReliable, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality workApplicants must be UK-based and have the legal right to work in the UKPump Fitter / Repair Engineer Working Hours and Benefits: Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 16:30Friday, 07:00 – 15:0039.5 hours a weekOvertime paid at 1.5x rateOngoing training and development opportunitiesSupportive, experienced workshop teamLong-term, stable position within a respected companyJackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 28 years.
