Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Location: Leeds Contract Type: Long-Term Start Date: March 2026 About the Role We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and help them thrive both academically and socially. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of complex needs. Key Responsibilities · Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs · Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets · Support pupils social, emotional and behavioural development · Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs · Foster a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment · Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, parents and external professionals · Promote independence and confidence in all pupils The Ideal Candidate Will Have · Experience working with children with special educational needs (in a school or similar setting) · A patient, nurturing and resilient approach · Strong communication and teamwork skills · A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection · Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification - desirable) We Offer · A supportive and friendly school community · Ongoing professional development and training · A strong commitment to staff wellbeing · The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in childrens lives Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
