Senior Software EngineerLondon – HybridWe’re working with a growing, international technology business at a pivotal stage of its scale-up journey. With a high-performing team of around 40 people and ambitious growth plans, the company is now seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the evolution of its systems and support the next phase of scale.Reporting into the engineering team, this is a senior technical role focused on building reliable, scalable software and supporting the systems that underpin the company’s platform. While not a people management position, it carries significant influence across engineering and plays a central role in technical direction, delivery, and engineering standards.What you’ll be doingTechnical leadership & system reliabilityOwning the design, reliability, and scalability of production systemsHelping reshape and scale systems to handle significantly increased volumeDriving best practices in infrastructure, CI/CD, and operational resilienceEnsuring systems and services support continued growth and product developmentTechnical direction & architectureContributing to architectural decisions that will define how systems scaleGuiding engineering practices and design approaches across the stackHelping the team make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, quality, and maintainabilityEmbedding best practice in system design and software engineeringDelivery & engineering excellenceContributing hands-on through coding, code review, and shipping to production regularlyOwning problems end-to-end, from design through to deployment and ongoing operationWorking across the stack, with a particular focus on infrastructureSupporting system scalability, performance, and reliability as usage growsCollaboration & influenceWorking closely with other engineers to design, build, and scale systemsContributing to technical discussions, pairing, and shared ownership of systemsSupporting a culture of clear communication, ownership, and continuous improvementWhat we’re looking forStrong experience building and operating software in production, particularly in AWSSolid understanding of infrastructure, CI/CD, and operating reliable systemsExperience working across the stack, including backend and frontend systemsExperience designing and scaling systems to handle increased loadAbility to take ownership and drive work through to completionPragmatic decision-making and clear communicationGenuine interest in how systems work and how they scaleWhat you’ll getA senior technical role in a business entering its next growth phaseReal influence over system architecture, engineering practices, and technical directionThe opportunity to work on systems that are critical to customers and business growth
