This Commercial Principal Associate role in Leeds offers the opportunity to advise on cutting edge commercial technology, AI and data protection matters. Description The Commercial Principal Associate will be: * Advising on a broad range of data protection and privacy queries * Advising on legal issues relating to developing technologies including AI * Working on technology licensing and commercial contract negotiations * Supervising associates on commercial contract drafting * Overseeing data protection documentation and compliance frameworks * Managing due diligence on IT, commercial risk and data protection compliance * Helping with business development initiatives and key client relationships * Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior lawyers Profile The Commercial Principal Associate should be: * A solicitor with 5 years PQE plus in commercial law * Experienced in data protection and privacy advisory work * Confident advising on technology and AI related legal issues * Experienced in technology licensing and complex commercial contracts * Comfortable supervising and mentoring junior lawyers * Commercially aware with strong client relationship skills Ties to Leeds Job Offer Salary ranging from £75,000 to £85,000.Pension scheme with a 5% contribution.Performance-related bonus structure.25 days of holiday leave plus statutory holidays.Life assurance and private medical coverage.
