This newly created role sits within a small, supportive Accounts Team, working closely with four DPs and reporting into one DP Accountant. You will play a pivotal role across both Agency and NDPB accounts, with regular interaction across the Department and with key external stakeholders such as Audit Office teams and Non‑Departmental Public Bodies.This is an excellent chance for a qualified finance professional to gain expertise, influence financial governance, and develop their career pathway within the NICS.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate and timely monthly and annual resource accounts meeting statutory and financial reporting requirementsWork closely with business areas to ensure financial data integrity and resolve queriesSupport the Department’s financial management duties through high‑quality reporting and analysisCollaborate with colleagues across FSD and external partners to meet strict deadlinesEngage with audit teams, NDPBs, and key governance stakeholdersQualifications (Essential)Full, current membership of one of the following professional accountancy bodies (or an equivalent qualification):Chartered Accountants IrelandInstitute of Chartered Accountants ScotlandInstitute of Chartered Accountants England & WalesCIMAACCACIPFAInstitute of Certified Public Accountants in IrelandPlus:Minimum of one year’s post‑qualification experience (within the last five years) in a finance‑related environment.Skills & AttributesStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressureExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilityStrong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlinesWhy Apply?✅ Competitive pay: £24.04–£25.01 per hour ✅ Hybrid working: 2 office days / 3 home days ✅ Flexi-time + flexible start & finish times ✅ 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday ✅ 12‑month+ temporary contract, offering a pathway to apply for upcoming permanent NICS competitions with support from your line manager # 4763268
