Due to continued growth and the increasing scope of financial activity, we are seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced DP Accountant to join their high-performing finance team.Your new role Reporting to the Head of Finance & Income Generation, you will play a key role in ensuring robust financial management in line with Managing Public Money NI and wider public‑sector financial protocols. This is a varied, technical and rewarding role covering financial accounting, grant management, payroll liaison, and reporting.Your responsibilities will include:Financial Accounting & SystemsOversee the computerised accounting system (Sage 200), ensuring timely and accurate data processing and reportingMaintain the Project Accounting moduleRaise purchase orders in line with organisational policiesBudgeting, Reporting & ComplianceAssist with budgetary control, month-end routines and year-end accountsPrepare monthly VAT returns and all bank/control account reconciliationsPrepare financial reports, returns, submissions and cash forecasts for internal and external stakeholders including DfCManage the monthly drawdown submissionMaintain the Fixed Asset RegisterGrant ManagementProvide accurate financial information for external grant applicationsAdminister grant claims and reporting using electronic systems such as Je‑SMaintain the grants database and produce periodic and final financial statementsProcurement & Business CasesSupport procurement activity and assist in preparing business cases in accordance with CPD and DfC guidanceMonitor spend against business cases and PPEsPayroll & PensionsPrepare monthly payroll information for submission to payroll providersLiaise via secure interfaces to ensure accurate exchange of documentsUpdate NILGOSC records and prepare regulatory returnsAudit & GovernanceLiaise with internal and external auditors, providing evidence of complianceEnsure financial records are maintained in accordance with policyWhat you'll need to succeed To be considered, you must:Essential CriteriaBe a fully qualified member of ICAI, ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA, or hold an equivalent international qualificationHave 2+ years’ post‑qualification experience in financial management, management accounting or financial accountingBe competent in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word and ExcelDesirable SkillsExperience with Sage 200Previous experience in public sector, charity, research, or grant‑funded environmentsStrong analytical, organisational and communication skillsWhat you'll get in return Competitive pay: £27.55-£28.67 per hourHybrid working: 2 office days / 3 home daysFlexi-time and flexible start/finish times37 hours per week, Monday-FridayInitial contract role with a supported pathway to perm positionWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career. # 4774110
