Health & Safety Advisor (Commercial)Temporary Contract – Up to 8 Months£250 per day + Holiday Pay (PAYE)Home Based with Travel Across the South of EnglandWe are recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a well established organisation on a temporary basis for up to eight months. This is a home based role offering flexibility and autonomy, however regular travel across the operating region is essential.The successful candidate will support construction, maintenance and asset management activities, ensuring robust health and safety standards are maintained across both in house teams and external contractors.Operating Region:Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.Candidates must be based within or close to this region.The RoleYou will act as a subject matter expert, providing professional advice, guidance and support on all aspects of health, safety and welfare. The position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, particularly CDM Regulations 2015, within a maintenance and social housing environment.This is a mobile position requiring site inspections, audits and engagement with operational teams.Key responsibilities will include:Advising managers and operational teams on health and safety compliance and best practiceSupporting in house projects, responsive repairs teams and outsourced contractorsReviewing and developing risk assessments and construction phase plans for high risk activitiesConducting site inspections and audits across live construction and maintenance worksInvestigating incidents and producing detailed reports with clear recommendationsMonitoring compliance and behavioural safety standardsAssisting with the development and continuous improvement of health and safety systems and policiesDelivering health and safety training where requiredLiaising with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive and insurersCompiling accident statistics and management reportsThe role requires a practical, solutions focused approach, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.About YouTo be considered, you will have:NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent highly desirable)IOSH membershipStrong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015Significant experience within construction, maintenance or social housing environmentsProven experience conducting risk assessments and site inspections in occupied premisesExperience of health and safety management systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong report writing skills and the ability to present clear recommendationsA methodical, analytical approach with excellent attention to detailYou must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle for work purposes.Additional InformationTemporary contract up to 8 months37 hour week £250 per day plus holiday pay (PAYE)37 hours per week, Monday to Friday + £30 holiday pay - rolled up to £280 a day Business casual environmentHome based with regular regional travelIf you are an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for a varied and autonomous contract role, we would be keen to hear from you.
