You’ll work across Key Stage 3 and 4, focusing on one core subject, delivering focused support that helps pupil’s close gaps, build confidence, and improve outcomes.The RoleDeliver 1:1 and small group interventions in English, Maths or ScienceSupport pupils who need catch-up, booster, or confidence-building sessionsBreak down tasks into clear steps and model strong study habitsReinforce key knowledge and exam skills (retrieval, vocabulary, problem-solving)Track progress and feed back to class teachers and the departmentHelp pupils stay focused, organised, and ready to learn in lessonsFollow safeguarding and behaviour policies at all timesThe Candidate2:2 degree or above (ideally linked to your core area: English/Maths/Science or a related subject)Grade C/4 in GCSE English and MathsClear, confident communication and a calm, professional mannerReliable, proactive, and comfortable working with teenagersEnhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain oneStrong interest in schools, learning support, tutoring, or teacher trainingThe School This ‘Good’ secondary school in Coventry has a strong focus on progress in the core subjects and uses structured interventions to support pupils who fall behind.
