Quantum Scholars are currently working with a fantastic secondary school in Bedfordshire who are seeking a qualified and experienced Computer Science and IT Teacher to join them immediately. This is a long-term position running until the end of the academic year. The school is a co-educational secondary with a sixth form, known for its commitment to academic excellence, personal development and strong pastoral care. They deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, offering a broad range of subjects. The school has been rated "Good" by Ofsted. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Computer Science and IT lessons across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5. Prepare pupils for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring strong progress and attainment. Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including high-achieving students and those with SEND. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour for learning. Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policies. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support pupil development. Contribute to curriculum planning and the continued development of the Computer Science and IT department. Attend departmental meetings, parents' evenings and relevant school events. Uphold the school's safeguarding policies and maintain high professional standards at all times. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification. A degree in Computer Science, IT or a closely related subject. Proven experience teaching Computer Science and/or IT at secondary level. Strong subject knowledge, including programming (e.g. Python), algorithms, data representation and computer systems. Experience preparing students for GCSE (and ideally A-Level) examinations. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners. A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). The right to work in the UK.
