Your new companyYou will be joining an established and well-respected Tier 1 contractor based in the Birmingham area operating within the water industry. This multi-accredited contractor delivers major clean and waste water capital programmes directly for multiple water providers, including Severn Trent Water, and offers a strong pipeline of work as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office with hybrid working. Your new roleAs Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects valued between £500k and £5m. Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will: Oversee contract administration and risk managementPrepare budgets, forecasts and monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs)Manage variations, valuations and final accountsSupport project managers with cost tracking and tenderingAttend client meetings to negotiate terms and resolve disputes. What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you must have: Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalentExperience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within heavy civils (water, highways, rail, renewables or utilities industries)Sound working knowledge of NEC form of contractExcellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skillsFull UK driving licence.
