A leading engineering group are seeking a Commissioning Director to lead commissioning strategy and delivery across major projects throughout the UK and Europe. This is a senior leadership, role not a site-based commissioning position.You will shape how commissioning is planned, integrated, governed, and executed across multiple complex projects, ensuring operational readiness is achieved without compromising programme, safety, or quality.If you understand that commissioning is where projects are truly won or lost, this role will resonate.Define and implement commissioning strategy from pre-construction through to final handoverProvide executive oversight across multiple live projects in EuropeAlign commissioning with construction sequencing, commercial milestones, and client expectationsLead and mentor Commissioning Managers and project teamsEstablish governance, reporting standards, and QA/QC frameworksOversee energisation planning, system integration, and performance validationEngage directly with clients and senior stakeholders to protect programme and operational outcomesIdentify and mitigate technical and sequencing risks before they impact deliveryThis position requires someone who can operate at both strategic and technical levels, equally comfortable in board-level discussions and detailed system reviews.The ProfileExtensive commissioning leadership experienceStrong background in complex MEP, power infrastructure, energy, or mission-critical environmentsProven experience delivering projects across multiple European jurisdictionsDeep understanding of programme risk, energisation sequencing and integrated systems testingCommercially aware with the ability to influence senior stakeholdersWilling to travel across European project locations.
