Finance Business Partner Salary: £55,000 - £58,0001-2 days per week in office A local government council are looking for a qualified accountant to join them as a finance business partner. This is an exciting opportunity to influence decision-making at a senior level, support major projects, and help shape financial strategy in a dynamic environment.About the RoleYou will work closely with service leaders and stakeholders to deliver robust financial planning, monitoring, and reporting. The role combines technical expertise with business partnering, ensuring financial information supports effective operational and strategic decisions.Key responsibilities include:Leading the provision of customer-focused financial management and accountancy servicesSupporting annual budget setting and medium-term financial planningPreparing and monitoring revenue and capital budgetsDelivering accurate financial analysis, forecasts, and management informationProviding strategic financial advice and constructive challenge to senior stakeholdersSupporting year-end processes and external audit requirementsDeveloping financial models to assess future demand, funding changes, and investment decisionsIdentifying opportunities for efficiencies, funding solutions, and service improvementContributing to complex projects and organisational initiativesThe role may also involve deputising for senior finance leadership when required.About YouWe are looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent communication and influencing skills.You will ideally have:Professional accountancy qualification (or equivalent experience)Strong financial analysis and modelling capabilityExperience working with senior managers and stakeholdersKnowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in a complex organisationExcellent problem-solving, judgement, and decision-making skillsAbility to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance audiencesExperience within large or public sector / not-for-profit organisations is desirable but not essential.
